It may feel like the summer is over now in the UK and in the north of Europe, but here on the island it tends to carry on much longer than that, right beyond October. In fact, we think October may be the very best time of year to visit Majorca.
It depends what you are after, but late summer is still very hot. Not heatstroke - heat wave hot like July, but a gentler hot, still warm in the sea, still a risk of burning at midday, still long sunny days but cooling in the evenings. Because most people don't know this, they don't visit so late in the summer, so there is more room, more availability and prices are lower.
Here are a few of our holidays lets which still have a few free weeks available in October. Have a browse and if you see something yu like, please get in touch. These are hot deals, and may dissappear quite quickly.
Charming little holiday villa tucked away in the green countryside near Pollensa old town. Everything up here in the north of Majorca is quite easy to reach, a few kilometers here or there; beaches, villages, shops, restaurants, the coast... and this villa is particularly well located. The house is typical Majorcan summer house with lots of outdoor space, a pool, bbq, covered terraces, ping pong table, dinning facilities and inside it is comfortable and homely with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms all on one floor. Great for families with young children and people with mobility problems, a haven of tranquillity.
More than just a holiday villa, this is a magnificent property located near Pollensa old town and the beaches on the Bay of Pollensa. The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms on two floors, which along with outbuildings, pool house and gardens make up a wonderfully stylish and comfortable set up, wrapped around the swimming pool and gardens. This along with the October climate are a heady mix, perfect for late summer holidays with your family and friends.
A gorgeous Majorca villa set in the countryside outside Alcudia, between the two bays of Pollensa and Alcudia, near Port de Pollensa's beaches and the long sandy expanses of Playa de Muro and near enough to the town to drive in and out for dinner. Also a family friendly home, comfortably restored into a holiday villa, with 3 bedrooms, balconies and terraces, lots of land, total privacy and a large swimming pool in the garden. Get away in October and you will have Majorca to yourself.
A great little family friendly villa located between Pollensa, Port de Pollensa and Alcudia, a short 3 km drive from the best beaches in the north of the island. The house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a big pool, gated off from the terrace, lots of outdoor space for playing and dining. Barbeques are a wonderful way to eat outside in the summer and September is one of the most charmed times of year in Mallorca, cooler than the peak season but still very hot, sea temperatures high, and the island beginning to wind down and empty. If you can get away at this time of year, you will get to see Mallorca at its best.
A beachside holiday home in Cala San Vicente - the name of the 4 cove resort on the northernmost coast of Majorca, half way between Pollensa old town and Puerto Pollensa. It is a beautiful place, only just residential, with a shop or two and a couple of cafes and restaurants. What it does have plenty of is beaches, long and sandy, small and pebbly, rocky, tiny... 4 very different coves with crystal clear water, great for snorkeling, scuba and lovely to kayak. There is no nightlife as such, though bars in Spain stay up late, and the house is walking distance to the beach. No need for a pool. 3 bedrooms and gorgeous sea views.
