Beaches in Majorca

Cala

Travelling to Majorca is always a good option. This natural paradise attracts more than one and a half million visitors a year, and no wonder.

Majorca is the largest island of the Balearic Islands with 3640.11 km2, which makes it the largest island in Spain and the seventh largest in the Mediterranean.

A visit to the Pearl of the Mediterranean deserves at least a week. The countless stunning beaches, coves with turquoise water, mountains and cliffs provide a unique beauty to our beautiful island.

If you are planning to travel to Majorca, do not hesitate to choose holiday homes in Majorca as your accommodation. At Nord Villas Pollensa we have an infinite number of villas, especially in the north of Mallorca, which will make your holidays relaxing, peaceful and full of unforgettable moments.

Discover Majorca: 5 essential coves in the north of the island

It is clear that the main tourist attraction in Majorca is its beaches, and there is a reason why it is known as the Pearl of the Mediterranean

The northern part of Mallorca is special. Here you can find secluded coves hidden among the rocks or fine sandy beaches

At Nord Villas Pollensa we want to share with you five idyllic beaches that you can’t miss for anything in the world. We warn you: you are going to love them.

Cala Sant Vicenç

Cala Sant Vicenç is located in one of the most beautiful and touristic villages of Mallorca, Pollensa. This idyllic cove is made up of three different small coves with crystal clear water; Cala Barques, Clara and Molins. All of them have similar characteristics and are surrounded by spectacular cliffs.

The area is perfect to enjoy your holidays, however, you must take into account that the village is located on a mountain. For this reason, the coves are somewhat sheltered.

Despite its natural beauty, it is not the best recommendation during windy days, as the cala is very exposed and when the weather is not favourable, strong swells can be generated that prevent bathing.

Cala Barques

Cala Barques has become one of the most touristy beaches in town. It is an ideal place to spend the day with your children.

Moreover, of the three beaches that make up Cala Sant Vicenç, it is the most sheltered from the wind in the area. However, you have to be careful on days when the sea is not on your side.

We advise you to get up early to visit it. We cannot control the tourist crowds that we face in summer, so if you want to save a good spot on this beach, we recommend that you go there as early as possible to avoid crowds.

Cala Barques is the first of the coves in the urbanisation that we will find when we reach the municipality of Cala Sant Vicenç. Access is by going down some really steep stairs… But we promise it’s worth it!

Cala Molins

Cala Molins is the most frequented of the three. Its fine sand makes it a comfortable beach to enjoy the whole day.

In Mallorca, in the sandy coves, it is very common to carry enough food in a thermal backpack or in a cooler and eat on the beach until the sun goes down.

Cala Clara

Cala Clara is located seven kilometres from Pollença, separated from Cala Molins by Punta de la Torre and forms part of the group of beaches known as Cala Sant Vicenç.

For this cove we recommend the use of crab cages, as the stones may be uncomfortable for some.

As before, we only recommend access to this cove on days when the weather conditions are favourable.

Cala Gossalba

Cala en Gossalba is one of the most beautiful unspoilt anchorages in Mallorca. Its ideal access is by boat, as it can be a bit difficult on foot. Cala en Gossalba is all sea and sky, sand and rocks… lots of rocks.

It is perfect for enjoying a day in a boat with your partner or friends. Here you will find all the tranquillity and peace that the sea itself provides.

Arenalet de Son Colom

Congratulations! If you have come this far we can assure you that you have just found one of those pearls unknown to the public, even to residents of Mallorca! The Arenalet de Son Colom is a jewel in the Colonia de Sant Pere, in the north of Mallorca

The sunset from here can be wonderful; a beautiful romantic sunset with your partner, both of you sitting on the sand enjoying one of the most beautiful natural spectacles the island has to offer.

Beaches in Mallorca

It will be wonderful to travel to Majorca… as Helena Bianco used to say!

But it is even more wonderful to stay at Nord Villas Pollensa because, as well as finding all the comforts you can imagine, the coves we have just recommended are very close to our villas.

We are waiting for you!
